“The average person is poisoning himself day by day with the food he eats. Most people eat with their eyes. If the food looks good, they do not question whether it is healthful or death-dealing. Few people know the right kind of food to put into their bodies to keep them well and strong or take the time to select this food if they do know. From birth to old age the average individual never experiences the taste of real natural food. Our tiny sensitive taste buds have been for generations so polluted by unnatural, artificially seasoned and stimulating foods that most of us are unable to appreciate the fine, delicate flavor of the natural foods.
“There is a work to be done in treating the sick with water and teaching them to make the most of sunshine and physical exercise. Thus in simple language we may teach the people how to preserve health how to avoid sickness . . This is true science.
In our current era, people have largely adopted the idea that we must rely on numerous doctors, hospitals, drugs, and clinics, or we are bound to be sick! Diabetes is among the fastest-growing diseases worldwide, in both developed and developing nations. While the disease itself is serious, its downstream complications are equally significant: roughly one-third of new cases of end-stage kidney disease are attributable to diabetes, and about four out of five diabetic patients ultimately die not from diabetes directly, but from the cardiovascular disease it initiates (heart attack, stroke, or peripheral vascular disease). Diabetes is also a leading cause of amputation and of blindness in older adults. (Country-specific statistics are available at www.who.int.)
